Bone mass can be increased in two ways, depending on the chosen material. Both animal-derived and synthetic materials can be used for bone augmentation, as well as a block of the patient\u2019s bone taken from a part of the angle of the mandible. <\/p>\n

The obtained material is sealed and then covered with a special membrane, which is strengthened with special pins intended for osteosynthesis, and then the gum is sutured.<\/p>\n

Depending on the duration and the type of procedure, general anesthesia or sedation is chosen. A sedated or semi-awake patient does not feel pain or even anxiety because he is completely relaxed and ready to cooperate with the doctor.<\/p>\n

Intravenous sedation is safe because it is supervised by an anesthesiologist who injects the sedative directly into the vein, making the patient drowsy.<\/p>\n

This half-awake position is especially recommended for those who have a strong gag reflex, discomfort caused by the noise or vibration of the drill, or simply fear the dental procedure as such. <\/p>\n

Additionally, the patient will not remember anything about the procedure and will be able to go home after about an hour.<\/p>\n

It is important to note that the patient should not drive a car right after the sedation.<\/p>\n

General anesthesia has become a standard practice for placing dental implants, ensuring that while the drugs administered by the anesthesiologist are taking effect, the dentist can carry out all the necessary manipulations related to implantation or bone augmentation.<\/p>\n

As opposed to sedation, where the patient is relaxed to the point where he can breathe and function independently, general anesthesia completely excludes the client\u2019s cooperation.<\/p>\n

General anesthesia is recommended in cases when the extensive dental manipulations are required.<\/p>\n

Its task is to ensure that the patient does not feel pain, fear and other unpleasant side effects, which can complicate the doctor\u2019s work and affect the desired final result. <\/p>\n

The course of full anesthesia is ensured by an anesthesiologist, who controls and ensures all vital processes of the body, such as breathing and blood circulation during the entire procedure.<\/p>\n

To agree on the insertion of dental implants under general anesthesia, you first need a separate consultation with a dentist and an anesthetist, as well as a statement from your family doctor.<\/p>\n

Possible risks are minimal \u2013 mainly related to non-observance of various pre-procedure measures.<\/p>\n

Namely: you should not eat 8 hours and drink 4 hours prior the procedure.<\/p>\n

After waking up, the patient rests in a separate room and then, depending on how he feels, he can go home.<\/p>\n

It is important to note that the patient must not drive a car immediately after anesthesia.<\/p>\n
